Presentation Reflection:
Working with Prezi was actually really fun. I enjoyed learning how to use a new program. The way Prezi is set up to keep it's viewers connected is great. With all the movement going on throughout the entire presentation, it will definitely keep your audience alert and awake. Even making an interactive worksheet for my students was a new experience for me. To be honest I have never been too great with technology. So I'm glad I have been able to step out of my comfort zone in order to learn and grow more as a student and future teacher. |
Podcast Reflection:
I really enjoyed putting together the actual podcast. I would say the most difficult part was editing the audio for my video. At first, I didn't know how to convert the audio file from my phone to mp3 so that I could put sound into Audacity. But with the help of Laurie and Google, I was able to put audio onto my video. Than I also had trouble editing, cropping, and adding sounds. For example, trying to find the right song to fit my video took some extra time since I'm aware of copyright issues. So I made sure to look for websites that allow usage of their music on personal videos. Finally, there are a couple glitches in the audio due to me recording outdoors in the wind, but overall I am happy with how my podcast turned out. I will totally use this as a cool/fun assignment with my future classes. |

Animation Project Reflection:
For this project I decided to create a stop motion animation; I created one last spring for my 3D Art final, so I knew I wanted to improve my claymation/ stop motion skills. As far as my topic, I've had a weird obsession with Sunflowers lately, so I wanted to incorporate that to this project in some way. The entire animation takes place in a sunflower field and the story is pretty self explanatory because of the title: "the sunflower & the ladybug." I'll say that I really enjoyed making this mini film. My mother's hand even makes a guest appearance in the video (she was glad to be a part of my assignment). Finally, I'm glad we had this assignment, because not only was I forced to use my creativity-- but I had to also use technology at the very end when I was searching for cool sound effects and putting together an audacity really allowed me to improve my technology skills. I did encounter some trouble when trying to upload my video to vimeo, because the file I saved my video under was "too small to be a valid video." & Than when I finally remembered my YouTube password, I had to convert my video file from .wlmp to .avi, thankfully, that didn't take long. |
Video Tutorial Reflection:
The how to assignment is meant to help us utilize video making as a technique to help up teach/ get a lesson across to our future students. For my "How To" video I decided to teach people how to create a Pop Art Makeup Look. I had lots of fun making and editing the video. I was so proud of the makeup results that I went ahead and posted the link to the video on all my social media. Thankfully, I received lots of positive feedback from my family and friends. One of my friends even recreated the makeup look; she told me the video tutorial was really helpful to her in terms of pausing and testing. With technology becoming such a big deal in our modern world, I would definitely use this video making strategy in my classroom in order to teach more intricate lessons. |
